We are a small Queensland company, with big dreams.

The Fing project is a result of what we call T Shirt moments. Our 'research' shows most of us have them; the moment when you hear or see something and think "That would make a great T Shirt!" It got us thinking what a great collection that would make, everybody's T Shirt moments in one place. And that's the inspiration behind Fing!!

The next step for Fing was to find a method to print T Shirts. We explored the possibility of screen printing and dye sublimation, the most common production methods but both of these proved to have problems. Screen printing is great for large production runs, although it is messy, uses significant amounts of chemicals and involves expensive set up costs for each run, sublimation just did not give us the soft quality feel we wanted. Further research revealed a new process direct digital printing was just becoming a viable option, as we looked into it, it was clear that we had found the answer. DDP is just so versatile, it copes easily with one off designs, allows you to change the size of images to suit the product, produces a fantastic photo print quality, prints have a soft feel which will not crack and fade, and because it uses water based CMYK pigment inks it offers a huge range of colours, and is environmentally safe. Better still it can print on any fabric, which opened up the possibility of printing cushions; bags even great quality wall hangings. The process will print from any digital image and so the range is limitless, if you can see it on a computer screen Fing can print it, this makes it a wonderful new medium to display old photos, create slogans, coloured designs, logos or anything else you want to print.

Fing believes in producing a high quality product something that will last and will feel great for years. With this as our criteria we began looking for the best T Shirts and fabrics. What soon emerged was quite unexpected and shocking. Earlier we mentioned, that Fing wants to become the home of the 'T Shirt moment ', we hope that by offering a great quality product at a great price this will be the case, however we knew it could not do any harm to offer an incentive!   At Fing we therefore offer a royalty program, whereby each time someone orders a design we pay the designer 15% of the selling price. Not only is this in line with our views on Fair Trade, but we hope it provides a way for us to support our customers. The royalty program also throws up some interesting possibilities.

Obviously it was created as a way to reward the designer, but we also offer you the option of donating the royalty to charity or as part of a present, the choice is yours. Imagine how excited the kids will be if you not only design a T Shirt for them or let them design one of their own, but they know they will get a royalty for each one sold.

Fing is just the beginning of what we hope will be a long journey. In time we shall look to significantly broaden our range of products, as Australian organic cotton becomes more freely available. Eventually we hope to manufacture our own garments and would love to hear from you about what you would like to see, we even invite you to send us designs for products, and just like with the T Shirt designs if we incorporate those designs we will reward you. In 2008 we will be adding Hemp and Bamboo to our range.
